Beneficial Nematodes
Beneficial Predatory Nematodes for your Garden, Potted Plants, Green House, Lawn, or Crops
Beneficial parasitic nematodes are a natural and low risk method for controlling soil-born pests in the larvae stage. The microscopic infective nematodes enter the larvae and release bacteria’s that eventually kills the host. The nematodes feed on the bacteria and the decomposed host tissue where they reproduce until numbers drive them out to find a new host.
Nematodes are effective against over 250 species of pests. In field crops, they kill caterpillars, cutworms, grubs, rootworms, flies, and other pests. Orchard worm pests, like codling moth, can be attacked in the soil during the winter with nematodes. Lawn and turf pests, such as white grubs, billbugs and Japanese beetles are successfully destroyed with nematodes.
"H.Heliothedis" [Hb] for cucumber, scarab, Japanese, flee beetles, chafer, thrips, white grub, corn root worm, bil bug, CO, potatoe beetle, black vine, weevil, root mealy bug.
The more cold –hardy species is “H. marelatus [Hm]” for black vine, weevil, white grub more virulent than Hb.
The heat-tolerant is “H. indica [Hi]” for root meely bug, grubs more virulent than Hb.
“Steinernema carpocapse” [SC] for fly larvae, flea, codly moth, cutworm, leaf miner, army worm, sod web worm, mole cricket, caterpillars in lawn and S.Feltia [SF] for fungus gnat pests or fruit flies. SC, SF (Parasitic Nematodes)
Nematode Release Guidelines: One million nematodes cover an area of 50 to 500 square feet. One hundred million will cover 1/8 acre to one acre.
Caution: Because Nematodes are sensitive to ultra-violet light, Medicine Bee Herbals recommends that if possible you apply beneficial Nematodes in the early morning or early evening, so as to avoid the direct mid-day sun.
