Apitherapy & Bee Products
Apis Mellifica
Remedy made from the whole body of the Honey Bee

"The queen must produce some substance that attracts the workers and that can be obtained from her only by direct contact. This substance evidently stimulates the normal working behavior in the hive. This chemical messenger has been called 'pheromones.' Experiments have shown that the bees obtain it directly from the body of the queen."

Apitherapy is a gentle and very effective way to the healing art. Art that can help relive a wide variety of physical, emotional and health problem. It is oldest natural therapy that uses most the advanced product, carefully designed by nature, and delivered to human by a bee, to treat our body, mind and spirit.
Apitherapy is the use of products of the common honeybee for therapeutic purposes. Honeybee venom, bee pollen, raw honey, royal jelly, and propolis are the products generally considered to have medicinal effects. These products are said to be effective against a wide range of ailments, from arthritis and chronic pain to multiple sclerosis and cancer, although few scientific studies have as yet proved their benefits.
The history of apitherapy extends back to ancient Egypt, Greece, and China. Even Hippocrates, the Greek physician known as the "father of medicine," used bee venom to treat arthritis and other joint problems.

Apitherapy products work in our body in two different ways. Any product that we swallow is distributed throughout our body by absorption in our digestive system. This process can start in the mouth (honey and royal jelly) or in the stomach (honey and propolis). The second way - by absorption throughout our skin directly into the bloodstream, or by olfaction - throughout our respiratory system. The olfactory (smell) nerves, they are connected directly to the limbic system of the brain. This direct connection bypasses the higher brain and will cause most people to respond or react to aroma of apitherapy products before they have even identified it.
Always proceed cautiously when using apitherapy products. Many apitherapy formulas have effects just as pronounced as pharmaceuticals. Consult with your physician before start taking apitherapy products. Also, visit the American Apitherapy Society web site for any further questions.

What is Autoimmunity?
One of the functions of the immune system is to protect the body by responding to invading microorganisms, such as viruses or bacteria, by producing antibodies or sensitized lymphocytes. Under normal conditions, an immune response cannot be triggered against the cells of ones own body. In certain cases, however, immune cells make a mistake and attack the very cells that they are meant to protect. This can lead to a variety of autoimmune diseases. They encompass a broad category of related diseases in which the person's immune system attacks his/her own tissue. (Autoimmune Related Diseases Association, Inc.)
